1928 Short Lee 111 with target sights

This is another one of the rifles I picked up and that collection I realize the butt stock socket photograph is not very clear. I will try to get another one soon. Something else I find curious about this rifle is for whatever reason they covered the front sight. Thank you for your feedback in advance.

The cover on the front sight is a standard 'civilian' accessory (available from Parker Hale) to protect the sight in transit.

Sights were often held in a candle flame** to re-black them (in the sooty smoke) and again, the cover would stop it being rubbed off.
