That seller knows what he is doing. He displayed it on a gray blanket.:p
Lol is this sarcastic or is there a history of a large number of expensive mosins being sold via pictures on grey carpets?

The grey carpet certainly doesn't seem to take away from the coloring, kinda makes the mosin pop out more from the dull monotone background...

Either that or just have Spax take photos of your rifles when you sell them, he's got the most glamorous mosin-porn I've seen yet!

Remember how, when these kind of threads came up ten years ago or so, there was inevitably one response that said, "That rifle's not worth that much, and never will be."? And I don't mean just for Mosins; that response showed up for every kind of collectible that went above the norm for price at the time. Those kind of remarks seem to have died slowly away. Just something I've noticed lately. Nice rifle, and I wouldn't have paid nearly that much, but somebody did. Good for them. Great for the seller.

:) I still need to retake some pictures when my light gets better..too much light distorts the natural color of the rifle

I am rich, rich I tell you!

http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?199045-New-England-Westinghouse-for-ij70-U-S-Rifle-1916

For that price, I would include a 1891 N.E.W. bayonet!

Heh, heh - I paid $360.00 for mine - A member here told me about the rifle which was for sale locally(never noticed one like this for sale anywhere...) I had a stomach ache buying this one due to the price.....and the very next weekend I found a really really nice SA 1918 Remington M1891 for sale at a local show.....I was cash poor and could not afford his modest price of $250.00.......dealer would not trade for any of my items I had, nor was interested in anything I had at home for trade.....modern or milsurp.....Bastid...I see this guy at shows now and then....refuse to talk to him or deal.....

There is a well known seller in New York that always displays his rifles on a gray blanket, and his auctions almost always go for top dollar and sometimes ridiculous amounts of money.

Wow. Just wow. That is ludicrous, can't believe somebody bought that. Maybe if I put my hex 91/30 on a grey blanket it will be worth $750. HAHAHAHA!

I remember when the first one of these, in similar condition, sold for over $1000.00
People went nuts. Quality brings out the money. It always has, and with the right advertising in the right market, it always will.
