While I had mine apart, I noticed two things....

* The magazine and lockwork had what looked like either "BK" or "8X" or something similar.

* The barrel and slide had the number "804" electro-penciled on the side opposite the ejection port (the slide was tough to see), their SNs matched so this makes sense

* However, the lockwork had the number "759" penciled on it. So I am not sure if attempts were made to match them or what.

Anyone else finding this?

BTW, this is an I-prefix model.

All Yugo original finishM57 pistols have an assembly number eletropenciled in the mag well (frame). The number is repeated on the barrel, lock work & slide. If you remove the magazine, you should see the numbers. Same when you lock back the slide and look into the open port. The same number should be visible there. These were applied BEFORE the pistols got a serial number proper, allowing the major parts to be kept together during final manufacture & fitting. Reblueing makes these numbers very hard if not impossible to see.The same numbering system is used on many Yugo weapons on first assembly, including AK's and SKS rifles. When the safeties were added on the M57 pistols, many of the lock assemblies were mixed up, so many pistols have mismatched locks.Sorry for the poor pics.JH

Just took a look, my frame has 3 804.

This makes me wonder if we should start an exchange so we can get some of our pistols matching again. For example, I have Lockwork 759 and need 804

Mine has matching electro numbers.

However, I have neat, small stamped numbers: Slide 1-00.001..Frame 2-00.101.....Trigger 2-00.004...Rt grip 2-00-301.... left grip 2-00-201....Barrel 1-01.001.....Mags 4-00.001.....4-00.001..... Hammer group 3-00.001......Hammer 3-00.002........... exactly as dots or dashes.

I suspect these are parts sequence....????

Just part numbers... Every Yugo matches these numbers on the same part.
