has anyone ever tried these "xs sights" http://www.xssights.com/index.php?nID=sights&cID=Sights&pID=sights&sID=handgun ?
I don't have Bulgarian that I could try them on but I have some Russians (probably won't work).
I wonder what kind of "gunsmithing" would be required?

A few years back, I had one of my Bulgies modifed for these sights.
Yeas, it requires mods to the front and rear sight mountings.

Do you know what size sights (or for which model firearm) the XS sights in your two attachments are for? I know XS doesn't make a dedicated sight for the Makarov but some of the smaller sights for a S&W J frame or Bersa might work for the Mak. Just curious as to what firearm these actually are for.

Installation of the XS sights will require the slide to be milled. Any competant gunsmith, or machinist, can do the job. It's not that difficult if they have the right dies.

XS used to make a set for the Makarov, they still might offer it I'm not sure. Those were from XS and made for the Makarov.

They still list them on their web site for bulgarians but as we all know if they'll fit a bulgie then they'll fit any of the EG, Russian or Chinese. They will not fit Commerical Russians with adjustable sights. They now offer installation and if I remember from checking on them earlier the prices weren't all that bad, just google xs sights and you'll find them.

Assume you could just send them the slide, and they would install the sights for you???
