I bought this 630rd crate of Yugo repacked WWII Russian x54 a few years ago from AIM.
Now that I need to open some sealed x54 I'm wondering if this worth more as-is, in which case I'd sell it to buy currently avail surplus ammo.
Thoughts?

Eli the crate is labeled in Yugoslavian not Russian. Its value is neglible. If your wanting to sell it contact me.
We'll haggle.

The Yugos did repack and surplus out a large quantity of wartime Soviet 7.62x25 and 7.62x54R. I haven't found either to be very good ammo. It is historically interesting, but not really collectible. I would value it below just about any other x54R surplus.

Vic, this ammo is Russian WWII vintage repacked by Yugo in the '60s. There's all kinds of headstamps and projectiles, that you could imagine from repacked stuff.

Jonny C... that's harsh, man! But good enough for me ;)

Thanks to both

Jonny is right that most reports of this ammo for shooting has been less that favorable. Surely the current imports of surplus ammo are more valuable as shooting ammo.

It may be more valuable to open it up and sell it box by box, or round by round to collectors......but I would think that would take you a decade or two to get rid of it.

Shoot the ones that go BANG and pull down the rest for components.

With both flavors, x25 and x54R, I have had lots of split cases.

The crate here says in specific "(C)" (Latin "S") what stands for "Soviet" as origin. The PPU lot-number has the suffix "P" (Latin "R") what stands for "remontovan" what means "reworked" (repacked, cleaned or what ever was neccessary).
