I bought a WW2 1911 holster manufactured by Sears in 1942. It is missing the belt hanger. My question is ..... is the belt hanger supposed to be brass or nickel plated? From what I can tell it should be nickel plated, but I would like confirmation. Thanks in advance for your help.

IIRC brass and other metal "critical to war production" were limited to brass ammo cases and aircraft production. 1910 hangers changed to steel on field gear. Check your canteen covers, bayonet scabbards, compass cases and other stuff dated 42 or later.
