I tried to do a bit of research on these including an older thread in this forum.
Wife got these in a box of junk and I snagged them and cleaned them up.
No markings other than some initials and an 'R' (guess which one that is in!).
From what I can gather, might these be privately purchased officers leggings from the WW1 period?

They could also be leather legging from around the turn of the century to the 20s or 30s. This is one of the most common things found in the attic. There is some evidence that they were used by some soldiers in basic training, until there was a rule passed against them. I think most of these could be traced back to the Boy Scouts rather than military.

PS They work great on home made mannequins to make the right shape under the trouser legs to wrap puttees over:)

I permit me to think the European way ... these nice leggings do not seem to be of the military kind ... certainly not European military leggings. Those that I've seen in my youth were of the same quality (if not better/thicker) but certainly not of the same "enhanced" design.
I sincerely hope I'm wrong!
