Would like to buy an original sling (painted Kanji even better) for a Type I. Also need an original cleaning rod. The sling is the #1 priority, but let me know what you have. Thanks

The Type I sling is the same as the T 38 sling.

Good to know. Thanks Don. This may be a dumb question, but since these rifles were supposedly for the Japanese Navy, would you expect to see Navy related painted Kanji? New to trying to put slings on rifles, so not sure what would be "correct".

Why not start a discussion thread on slings for the Type I and get some of the experts to post there, they have picts too.

The original sling on my Type I has a few faint markings on the inside lower end.
