Okay, lets try to narrow this down a bit.

Antique, C&R, or modern?

What kind of action?

What kind of feed system?

Do you plan to mount a scope on it at some point?

Did you want it to be able to fire Short, Long, and Long Rifle, or Long Rifle only?

Ambidextrous?

Probably the big one: What is your price range?

The two names I hear bandied about a lot are the CZ-452/455 for a bolt-action, and the Ruger 10/22 for autoloading (the latter seems to be the Chevy small block of .22 rifles, in terms of the sheer number of enhancements and accessories out there)

You might get a spankin' from the moderators for doing "business" in the forums. See the rules sticky. Try the want to buy forum toward the top of the page. With the details per Fushigi. (For a basic shooter, think Marlin)

I was looking for something similar to the Ruger 10/22. However, I would be okay with a single shot bolt-action. I'm actually pretty open to any action and feed system. My goal is to find a rifle to go to the range with often enough so that it doesn't cost me a fortune. My price range is low, <$100 if possible, but I can stretch up to $150. I'm a broke college student, if that gives you a better idea. I'm right-handed and my gf is lefty and we plan to shoot together.

If he is just asking for advice on what to buy, and not actually trying to do a business transaction; I don't see this as the wrong place to post.

Youre lucky. In CA common .22 rifles have almost a negative value due to basic low value, dros and ffl fees, sales tax and 10 day waiting period and $15 gunlock and $20 hardcase. Hard to sell a $75 rifle with almost that amount in added costs and frustration. Most shops won't even take/buy common .22 rifles due to value and long term shelf life. You'll see more parted out than sold complete nowadays.
