Yea, double wow. It seems like true "mint" examples of these 95s are fetching fantastic prices. Almost like your Tokyo T-38, Rob ! Normal wear stuff is ho-hum but an early mint example must be rare.

Nice sword... that tassle (while a gorgeous period example for NCO swords) is not technically correct for the tsuba. The tassels for pierced brass guards had a buckle and strap. Solid piece were for solid steel / iron tsuba NCOs. That price is NUTS... you can buy a hand forged, star stamped officer's sword for that price. The seller did good marketing; his description appealed to at least two buyers who agreed that they had to have "the best". It is a NICE example and will hold investment value (although I would not think that high in the near term). Proof that condition counts.
