Have a Winchester 1892 44-40 manufactured in 1896. Bore and rifling is very good with no pitting. Gunsmith I took it to said the bore was spectacular for age and wanted to shoot it. I declined lol. Octagon barrel and receiver show nice brown patina. All original parts as I can tell (gunsmith agreed). Only issue (not an issue to me) is that someone a long long time ago did some small repair work to stock. Action is very smooth. Any idea of value? I paid $350 for it.
