Will there be an XDS-40?

I have a ton of .40 but am getting intrigued by the XDS-45. I am also looking at the .40 Shield which ain't bad. But, most seem to like the XDS series over the Shield. So-o-o-o, any idea if an XDS-40 is in the works?

Just wondering....thank you!

If I was a betting man, oh wait, I am, I would bet yes... Too many people just likenyou, they wont ignore a ready made market.
Thanks Lee. Seems the XDS is liked by a tad more on the forums than the Shield; but both work well and the price difference is pretty substantial. I like the XDS because it seems more polished inside, does not have a manual safety, does have a rail, and does have a hi-vis front sight and has a rough texture on the grip. The Shield is US-made, is a lot less expensive, and seems to be just as reliable. Both had problems early-on but have been resolved. Am I missing anything???

Me, I am a fan of the SRc pistols, just waiting for one in .45acp. But I did like the XDS it shot very well in my hand, a bit better than the Shield felt. I do however prefer a manual safety, just grew up with the 1911, then the Mak and most of my pistols have used a manual safety, so I did miss that on the XD and kept instinctively looking for it.

As far as price goes, to me that is secondary to the way it feels and performs, in my hand not the gun rag or internet experts. So I would suggest whichever does that for you.
