Enclosed picts of an owner-alteration to a real nice Mauser P38. The mag release notch was lowered down to the landyard hole,thus lowering the mag release to where you see it. Been trying to figure out what other mags fit the P38 , but are too long....can't think of one....or what other reason someone would have for this alteration. Anyone know of a good gunsmith/craftsman that has the facilities and talent to insert a piece to restore the grip frame....heliarch...? micro welding...? JB Weld...?(joke).
Any suggestions appreciated.....thanx.
(PS...I put a mark on the grip frame where the mag release notch should be).

There is no end to Bubba's mischief.

Maybe Bubba found a finger extension to fit a P38 mag resulting in this "brilliant" modification.

Likely can weld it up and drill new holes

Not sure what mag'd fit, but I'll go check

I used Tony at [email protected]. He reviewed pics and a lot of correspondence before the project. Does a lot of different type of welding. On my barrel he used laser to isolate the heat. I did all the finish work after it was returned. Turnaround time was great and $$$ were best I could find. art

Modification to make it a single-feed only?

Rack the gun open, push up on the slide stop to hold the slide back, drop the round in on top of the follower, and hit the slide stop to chamber the round?
