Original... yes, sure they aren't.

Picked up a few of the so-called Numrich and Sarco originals. Was spreading one with the correct pliers, and it shattered into 3 pieces. OVER brittle. They are FAKES/REPROS, finally made using the correct steel and proper shape, but the tempering is WAY off. Should be SPRING steel, not "Wear eye protection for these shrapnel grenades" steel

Real hoods can be got from Libertytree collectors at the moment - sa,e place as those south American contract rods shown above.

NONE of the repro rods look right, so I wouldn't even bother with one. Not worth the $12, as they don't even LOOK right. Fill a hole, and that's it!

Sarco did say they were not original.And mine went on to my 98-40 just fine with H/D snap ring pliers.
