M39 is obviously the ultimate in the evolution of the Mosin as a combat rifle.

But I think a Finnish evolution of the 1907/m38 sized carbine would have been sweet.

Have a m-27 which I shoot only cast bullets out of. Have had that one for about close to 30 years. And that is the one which I have the most experience with. But do have a 1944 dated M44 Russian carbine and a M39. But the m27 is my baby. Frank

I enjoy threads such as this but I always find it impossible to limit my selection as required in any scenario where you are called upon to choose the best or your most favorite something or other. I just can’t do it!

I would have to say my 1940 Tula. First one I ever bought in 2003. The sling came from Poland. Near the Baltic sea. It was sent to me in the southwest desert of Arizona from Ebay way back when.

It's dark now because the dry weather out here started to dry out the leather. I was not going to let it deteriorate. Always in the black with Albanian ammo circa "I don't remember". I would have to look.
