I Recently got my 71 beaumont . it had a little wood rot at edge of buttplate
I couldn't make up my minf wether to leave it alone, remove rotted wood and splice in a piece
or remove rotted wood and fill with epoxy filler?
I chose the later cause i'm not well versed in wood spliceing and the area wasn't very big.
Now after the work is done I'm thinking maybe I should remove part of filler and insert a thin awood skin
over top? Before and after pictures what would you have done?

NIce find! I personally would have left it alone but I'm rubbish at wood restoration.
I have been told the wood rot would spread if it wasn't removed at least. This is my second attempt at word repair.
I mixed sawdust in epoxy from another beaumont piece of stock and it truned a litte darker, guess I'll use pine
next time. I think I may try and fire this beaumont.
