I see "gun show reports" etc. that quote contition/ price of stuff seen, but not bought. Do you keep this in memory, or is it OK to take notes?

Take explicit notes. Exams based on the notes will be given each Monday!
A small notebook, and a few short quick notes will not bother anyone usually. But if you were to bring a clipboard and take 3 pages of notes while holding a single weapon folks might get annoyed.
Notes, digicam (phonecam is ok), reference books. A couple of friends to talk you into buying another mosin... Those are the things of outmost necessity.
:)

I thought it was against federal law to bring a camera into a gunshow/take pictures.

Anyways, I just keep in my mind what things were priced at. If I was looking, they musta been good, and good stuff sticks in my memory.

Really? I will have to ask next time I go to gun show.

I keep notes from the gun show on my pda for review later.

Show me that law!
I don't know that it's federal law, but it is pretty much common knowledge and posted at most shows that Gun Shows are copyrighted events. Accordingly, no cameras, video equipment or other recording devices are permitted inside the show at any time.

1.All guns must be unloaded, tied and the magazines removed.
THIS INCLUDES FIREARMS OF CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT HOLDERS.
2.All ammo must be in sealed containers.
3.No loaded magazines allowed in the show.
4.No cameras allowed in the show.
5.Carts, dollys and baby strollers used to carry trade items cannot be brought into the show except by dealers.
6.Police officers who are in uniform or who are displaying badges have free admission.
7.All Federal, State and Local laws must be obeyed.

Well, those rules do not apply in Pasadena, TX or in most of the gun shows I have attended in Texas.

No hassle with concealed carry as long as you are not handling your concealed carry gun which is against the law to do in public in Texas. IOW, you are either concealed carry w/ no tie wrap or you are not concealed carrying in which case the tie-wrap rules apply.

Loose ammo for sale - though Houston (not Pasadena or any other city I know of in SE Texas) prohibits ammo in shows at the George R Brown convention center.

I don't believe cameras are against the rules - though you should ask the owner before photographing anything.

Regards.
I didn't take notes. Gave a C note for a Kar 98 Erfurt 1915, which has crown B, F, and w's. Stock slot. Force matched bent bolt. Assume a WWII rearsenal.
Jap trainer at $100 with "caution, do not fire" dremmeled on the action.
Hakim, $385.
Syrian mauser, pretty rough,
A couple of M-39 Mosins
A couple of Yugo's.
Spanish air force crest Mauser each at < $300.
M-88 Commission @ $ 180 didn't pick it up.
A full third of this 25 table show was milsurps. I was surprised to see so many. Have been to a lot bigger area shows with a lot fewer "army guns".

Thats the kind of gun show I wish would come here. All of our gun shows are full of Remchesters and very few milsurps.
haven't heard of a law against camera's at a show, but a lot of shows i go to do not allow camera's inside. they don't confiscate cellphones with cameras or anything like that, but many of them do not allow picture taking.
don't know the reason, but one could be unscrupulous folks recording serial numbers and filing stolen gun reports with the police. just a guess there, though.

y'all have a good day, Keith
No federal law against cameras, but it is against promoter policy at many shows.

I would have some objections if yo wanted to take pictures of any of my firearms.

not federal law, but the rules set down by the people sponsoring the show.
