Curious as to the answers. Have'nt seen so many offerings since before the import ban. You have avail (forgive me if I get a name or two wrong):

Barrett M468

FN PS90

FN FS2000

FN SCAR L
FN SCAR H

Robinson Armament XCR

SIG 556

STG 556 ( US made copy of the AUG)

Magpull Masada
CZ-USA's semi-auto version of VZ58

US made FG42

Am I forgetting any?

Really want a bullpub - waiting for reports on the AUG copy. Why did'nt FN leave the military scope setup on the FS2000?
I finally got to play with the SIG rifle. Looks like a SIG trying to be a M4. Would prefer a fixed stock and attached sights - something that looks more Swiss issue.
The ones I think I'm going to buy are the semi-VZ58, and one of the SCARs.

I've been following the FG-42 website on and off for the last few years. They've done an amazing job with the machining, and I have no doubts that the final product will be absolutely beautiful. Heck, I'm drooling over them. But the price is simply too much for most folks to handle, I think.

Those who are already in the class III world and are used to those prices, can I'm sure stomach them (especially compared to what an authentic class III FG-42 costs).

FS 2000...sadly I live in California. I believe we can have them if they are disassembled but hey, that's no fun.

A G43 would be a close second but they are +1K. That's a lot for a C&R. Maybe once the Ruskies dump their load of G43s the price will come down.

I'm very Frugal and refuse to spend that much unless its for a "full auto" that would be the next step after the semi auto's or when our collection rounds out. But the semi auto belt feds look interesting too. Some of the prices for a semi auto rifle are just getting out of wack there silly too.

Right now for the past few years its been the Russian Izhmash Saiga I/we can own a brand new quality russian izhmash ak47 in a sporter wrapper thats unmatched in performance and in accuracy too. I think its the most bang for our buck right now. Thats my own personal opinion. Everyone can afford one too its that affordable.....
