I am in the market for an AK-47 of some sort. I have been looking at a Romanian WASR-10, primarily because of the price. I have been told everything from; ”these rifles are awesome” to “the guns are junk”.

Are these rifles worth my time and money or not?
What is a good price for one?
Anyone interested in selling one?

I wouldn't call them "awesome" or "junk", they are functional although crudely made. They can however be made to look pretty, by refinishing the metal and stock, if you so choose.

There is no such of a thing as "a good price for one" now. They are anywhere from 575 ( which is the lowest I have seen one advertised for) on up.

You are coming into the game very late of getting one at a "good price". a few months ago they were around 400, now you are going to have to pay the "panic price".

I stick by my prediction of $600 minimum, delivered and transferred.

The only reason I haven't decided to sell a couple of my NDS Romanian builds is that the price may go a lot higher after a gun ban really passes.

I agree with your prediction. The local shops by me in Texas are all sold out of AKs, and when they get two or three in they don't sell them for less than five to seven hundred. It's absolutely insane, but I'm definitely going to buy an AK eventually, even if the price keeps going up.

Incidentally, if you want an ultra good AK, go for a Saiga, they're crazy expensive and don't look like the military AK, but they shoot like a dream. Also, check out the SKS, it has very similar performance to an AK series rifle, but it's less than half the price. It's a great semi auto rifle to start your collection with.
