what mauser does this sight hood go to? My guess is a G33/40 from what I have seen on the internet.

This front sight hood is for a Yugo mauser. The 33/40 one is very similar, but the slot opening is SHORTER because the 33/40 front sight base is smaller.

Yugoslavian M48A front sight hood. The earlier M48 and M24/47 used a hood very much like the K98k.
