I have a revolver, brass frame, engraved cylinder with the following; Colts patent no., Pat.Sept10,1850, engaged 16 May,1843 with sailing ships on cylinder. The following in front of trigger (AP in a square) PN with a circled star above it. Numbers A50486.

Italian made copy of a Colt Navy percussion revolver. Proved for black powder (pulvero *****). The AP in square rings a bell, but it is faint - somebody will know.
