They could be proof stamps, or inspection stamps, or something to show that a machining step had been done by a certain crew, or..... I don't recall seeing similar stamps on any of my guns, but I don't look under the woodline much anymore. I suspect most answers will be similar to mine. Unless we find someone who worked at this plant in 1944, its unlikely that these will ever be deciphered.
