Good morning all...I was picking out of the scrap barrel at the LGS and scored this Steyr M95. I would like to restore this back to a working piece of history. My questions are (I'm a noob with M95's) what model/year is this so I can order the correct parts that I will be needing. Thanks for any help in advance....

Looks like it was at one time owned by someone in England, those are British proofs added to guns sold to civilians. its hard to say from the pictures but it appears to possible be a long rifle based on the rear sight and still in its original 8x50r chambering. how long is the barrel? probably going to have a long difficult road ahead of you. I just sold a training rifle that would have been perfect for you as all you would have had to do was drop that barreled receiver into that stock and find a bolt for it.

if its a long rifle, try looking for a training rifle, that would be my suggestion. just dont expect much value out of it in the end. also the bore looks like it might be a little rough and if it is i'd actaully advise against trying to restore it.

Here's a little update since doing some research....starting from the right of the picture there is a Crown stamped with the letters BNP and an 18 stamp next to it. Meaning it was produced in 1918?

Above the 18 there is a stamp with 8 M/M, I'm assuming this to be the caliber?

Further right there is: 2.225", underneath this number is TONS PER SQUARE "

I got the magazine triggerguard assembly from a auction for $35, so so far I'm in $45....

Also there is no S on the barrel....
