Falling prey to the "I'll take $50 off if you buy them both" I bought a Czech Mauser marked K98 on the import mark. The crest looks like it was wiped off and has a MF stamp on it. Any info?

Samco still sells them for $220 to $230. Keep in mind that to a FFL holder and does not include shipping. Retail I'd guess $250 to $325.

Many US collectors call these the Arctic K98K.

Assembled in Czech plants mostly for a money cow. Easlily identified buy the "Winter Trigger Guard" and bolt take down on butt cap versus the butt stock.

Many different variations (G24(t), dou, dot and other recievers were used with stock on hand.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering why it looked almost new. Since it's an "Artic" rifle, I'll have to take it out this week. I paid $200 for it, so I guess it pays to buy now, research later.

No one knows what the MF stands for?
