I have a 45-70, does that count? Or does the bore have to be at least 1/2 inch?

What is a Big Bore?

I'd consider your 45/70 in the ball park, but usually anything .50 cal. or better....:D

It is not a Brown Bess , it is half stocked with a horn tip on the end of stock, it must have been a sporting arm of some type. The touch hole thru the barrel is lined with a small bit of gold. The only marks are on the lock " IR LITTLE".

11mm Mauser, 11mm Mannlicher, 11mm Spanish, 11mm Chassepot, etc?

OK, How about a TC "Big Boar" in 58 caliber percussion? Shoots a 440 grain bullet over 80 grains of ffg black powder. I thought I had detached a retina the first time I fired it.
