Hello

I have just bought that bayonet which I never heard before.

It was made by Westinghouse and later used in US Army bayonet with Mosin's rifle.
All I have seen so far have scredriver's tip but not this one.

The serial number is 1293952

Overall length of mine is 503mm - typical
As you see on the photos pen's tip wasn't made from scredriver't tip.

What you think about it ?

Best regards
Krzysztof

Previous owner with a grinder and some spare time maybe? Did the seller tell you any stories about this bayonet?

If, and only if, the bayonet is exactly the same length as a normal M91 bayonet, then it could possibly be that the bayonet is partially unfinished, as the tip profile is not ground into a screwdriver tip...compare the two overall lengths and let us know.
I've seen plenty of partially finished Westinghouse bayonets on this side of the pond, but never one with a lock ring in place. I suppose it is possible that some were exported? But the lock ring would've been installed and fitted only as the very last manufacturing step, after the tip profile was ground.
