NO, its not a .50. Its only a .44 mag, and its gonna be running my nice light recoil handloads.

I have been wanting to put a scope on my DE for a little while now. But just have not been able to find a decent scope in my price range, and was still not sure how much I would like it. A red dot has been reccomended to me on here and by a few other people, so I find one for pretty cheap on midway. Its a BSA. I have a Mk.VII desert eagle and on those the top of the barrel is a 3/8 dovetail (like a 22) Only the newer (current) Mk XIX desert eagles have the built in weaver base. So the red dot I got is made to mount to the 22's 3/8 dovetail. I mounted it and it tightend down real good and feels sturdy. Only time will tell if it will hold up. If it doesnt, I'n not out a lot of money.

I have never used a red dot scope before, and one thing that bothers me is the dot is all over the place. You move just a hair and it jumps all around the scope. But I have been told thats normal and ok, as it doesnt matter where in the scope the red dot is, that once zero it in, the bullets hit where the red dot sets. So hopefully I will find out tomorrow.

Looks good.

I have a Millet red dot on my Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Mag. The little dot is sensitive to the way I hold the gun as I'm aiming. I guess that is why it works so well.

Before the red dot, I wasn't too good with the .44. After the red dot, I can drive nails at 50 yds. Its the best thing I ever did to the gun. The Millett has had no problem with the recoil, so far. In fact, that was a selling point that hooked me, ("Can handle heavy recoil" - I got it from Midway).

Later I bought one off eBay for my Ruger Mark III

Here's mine on the .44

And the one on my Ruger Mark III

Well so far so good. I put 50 round through it. I did notice it slid forward just a bit, but was stoped by the front site. So I just tightened the screws a bit more and left it like that.
Didnt take too much to get it zerod. And my groups shrunk by about half at 25 and 50 yards. I even shot it at 100 and got 7 out of 8 on the paper. But I was useing some crappy hard to see targets. So I will get some better ones and try agan. But first I am gonna work up a good load. I want to see what it can do.
