bayonets were supplied. ONLY way to be certain they were issued to Japanese is if there is white painted kanji (usually numbers) between grips on back strap. Otherwise bayonet is identical to normal Czech bayonet. Many opinions as to the "correct" style frog. That's another story

Thank you for the replies. I have a line on a proper VZ24 bayonet that has kanji on the back strap and was wondering if anyone else had one. I did not know if they were marked by the Japanese in this manner.

For the record. I picked up a Japanese VZ24, "P" series at an Ohio (?) show some years back. It was like new and had the original sling, not Japanese, and Czech (?) muzzle cover. The only way one could tell it was from Japan were the characters painted on the sling, another one I should have kept.
