Got this 52/57 last week---

It doesn't have the right kind of paint on it, so I'm going to take it to a local shop---"Bert's Bed-Lining and Industrial Mutilation"--to get it fixed right.

I bought a 1420 round case of Seth Efrikin brass cased 7.62x39 to baby this rifle with and she won't shoot it. (I need to mic the bullets, they act like they're undersized.)
Does like Sellier & Bellot, Red Army Standard and all kinds Wolf. S&B got 65% hits on the small 300 meter gong and Red Army got a solid 90% on the 200 yarder at Eastern Nebraska-----in a freakin' gale.

The ghost of a previous number shows up on this photo, but is about impossible to see in real life.

I love the peculiarity of this one.

These rifles are much more refined than an SKS. The SKS is probably the better rifle though from a combat and ability to take abuse perspective. Regardless, the Czechs build fine firearms.

"Does your rifle have any "OTK" markings in the sling cut-out?"

Yes, it has "OTK-297"----just a plain "297", not "2-97". So no indication that it might be a date.
