I recently picked up a 1938 dated VZ 33 with a refinished stock. Couple of questions for you guys. Is the VZ 33 stock supposed to be numbered like a VZ 24? This one does not appear to have been numbered, yet has the matching #'d CETN disk in the stock. Also, how should the wood be finished? Should it be stained, just shellac'd or would it have been oil rubbed? I'd like to bring it back to its original config. Thanks & Best Wishes, BB

The Vz-33 stock is un numbered. The stock disk is the only number on it. Some times there is a penciled in number in the barrel channel. I think that the original finish is a oil based finish.
