Today I purchased my first VZ.24 short rifle at a show in NH. I really have enjoyed my 24/47s and this purchase filled a chronological void. However, the problem I'm having is that the safety will not flip to the center position or to full safety. This also prevents me from properly disassembling the bolt for cleaning. Any ideas as to why this safety will not function and what should I do to remedy this problem ? I've got a 24/47 bolt and rifle for comparison and it looks the same and functions perfectly. Thanks for any assistance.

All well today with the bolt safety and a lot more force. The bolt has been disassembled, inspected and reinstalled. No problems, just a very stiff safety.

You can slightly alter the leading edge of the "ramp" on the lever so it gets under the face of the cocking piece a little deeper.
Some fine sandpaper will do the trick on one that is off just a bit.
