The B-17G sure enough had a mid-air with something, I think. MIGHT have been a ground-handing accident, but i have a feeling it was a mid-air. Shows how tough the Flying Fortress was, i guess.

I am NOT interested in going into a river (or lake) in a tank, even with pontoons to stay above water attached.

The B-17 was justafiably famous for bringing the crews home. I believe that was the result of a direct flack hit. I have seen this photo before. The second os between 1870 and 1890 I believe.

Pic #1 was in an Off-Roading magazine a few years back, as one of their "Worst Stuck" contenders...

Whoever the Recovery Platoon leader that caught that job was would have some words - and so would his Bergpanzer crews...
