At a local show today I picked up 5-2 pound bottles of Vihtavuori powder 1-N130, 2-N133 and 2-N160 for $25.00 per bottle.
I'm wanting to know what calibers you would use this powder for.
I've only used Vihtavuori pistol powders before, so there rifle stuff is new to me.
I'm thinking the N160 would be good for 6.5x55 the others I haven't decided.
What do you all think.
Thanks

While I have not used any personally, I have no doubt it's top quality stuff, as most everything out of Finland usually is. $25 a pound is a bit on the pricey side I think, perhaps it's a bit cheaper in bulk online, but I usually pay about $17 to $18 a pound for IMR, Winchester, Accurate Arms, and Hogdon powders thru my online sources. I'm going to get back in to loading military surplus powders (WC844 & WC846) for my two primary military rifle calibers (5.56 & 7.62x51) in the very near future, and even with hazmat fees included it runs about $8 to $10 a pound which is hard to beat if you do much reloading.

Thanks Zackacy 78 for the link, I already have that information and I have a condensed Vihtavuori loading manual.

Shoobedoo when I researched the Vihtavuori powders the cheapest I could find was through Graf & Sons and it was running 26-27 dollars a pound so a 2 pound bottle for $25 is a excellent deal.
I've been buying WC844 & WC846 buy the case (32 pounds) for several years, I usually try to pick it up from Hi-Tech Ammo when I'm visiting in St Louis it saves the hazmat fee. They also have some Long Range Rifle Powder (Reloader 15 IIRC). I'm also a big fan of Accutate, Scott, Alliant powders.

What I'm looking for though is someone with some actual usage experience with the Vihtavuori N130, N133 and N160 powders.
Is there anyone out there that has used any of this stuff?

Thanks in advance

I've never used the VihtaVuori rifle powders either, but you sure got a good deal (12.50/lb.). I looked at my little VihtaVuori guide and it shows those powders used over a wide range. .308, 30.06 and 6.5x55 are the calibers I would be interested in giving it a try.
