I have these two ponchos I picked up a while back. Both in excellent condition. I am considering listing them for sale. One is dated to 64, the other 65 if I remember correctly. One has a VERY small hole, maybe 1/8th diameter, and thats it. All snaps, everything great on them. I cleaned them with water, then rubbed them with automotive armourall to try and get them even better. What would be a fair price on them? I'll probably put the money into ammo or gear for my Utah hiking trip this summer....

Well, one with a hole is not in "excellent" condition. The armorall "treatment" killed any value they had left. That being said, the Vietnam era ponchos I've seen for sale in "new" condition have been in the $10-$15 range.

How would cleaning them up, removing dust and a few spider egg sacks ruin their value? Didn't remove markings. Just made them smell better, and clean again. No rips, tears, anything.

Cleaning them up is one thing, using Armorall is something else. I wouldn't buy them.

It seemed to help them. They aren't oily, just a lot more flexible. Water just removed the dirt, dust, and spider egg sacks.

We were still using those "Vietnam Era" ponchos in the early-mid 90s.

Armorall doesn't change the item, it just protects it and can be wiped off.
