is that legal? i thought tampering with the mail is a federal offense.
UPS is private industry. They can do what they want within reason. Common carrier which operates under the ICC regulations. They have gotten too big to handle their mission anymore. This is how the socialists are going to kill the firearms industry and no, I do not have on a tin foil hat. Fed Ex already will not ship for a dealer that is not pre authorized with them and they have closed the pre authorization lists.

Disrupting interstate commerce is against the law but not if the swamp is secretly orchestrating it.

Destroying packages in transit? UPS is a common carrier. They will be buying a lot of (financial and possibly criminal) trouble if they are up to that.
Also they can not turn them over to law enforcement since the contents are fully legal. It would seem once they accept it they have two legal choices. Return it to sender or ship it to the correct destination.
If this is extended universally to all parts, AR uppers, or primers etc. there could be some real problems. Right now there is a lot of smoke.

Being a private carrier they can decide such things and still be legal. They can open any package and inspect the contents. If they don’t like the contents they can dispose of it as they like too. They do not need a search warrant or judge’s orders. They used to be notorious for opening up boxes, checking out the stuff, then poorly taping it up. The contents would spill out later and be lost. It was pretty common to get a broken empty box delivered or a opened box with only partial contents delivered. I remember one company sent their people to the Atlanta center to salvage what they could from the list items bins. The box was opened and the contents spilled out. They immediately toss the stuff into a list items bin to be auctioned off later.

I have never understood why gun stores ship with "guns" in the name..

No better way to scream "STEAL THIS BOX".

I've often thought of adding "InsertNameHere repaired golf clubs n more" to the outside of rifle boxes just to make it seem as unappealing as possible when shipping.

Have they ever been challenged by a good legal team on these practices. People like Brownells and MidwayUSA should be big enough to have some legal wt.

UPS is going the way that every other corporation is. I tried to ship a gun in a 40x3x4.5 box to Missouri the other day. They wanted $565 to ship. I asked if that was some mistake because I had shipped guns to the west coast mere months prior for like $50 fully insured. They said that apparently rifles can no longer be shipped ground and must be airmailed and that’s why the price has gone up. So I drove 5 minutes to my FFL and got full insurance. It ran me $65 and they shipped it FedEx.

I agree 100%

I tell my gun dealers who I buy from DO NOT put your GUN SHOP name on the box, just put the owners first/last name. Otherwise your just inviting trouble.

We’re moving towards businesses being liberal or conservative. Limiting their business to 1/2 the country. No idea why you only wish to serve 50% of the country. Long term this is a loser idea
Sometime Ideology trumps common sense.
Perhaps some of these investors are responsible.
Institutional investors make up over 70% of UPS stock ownership. The Vanguard Group Inc. owns over 64 million shares of UPS and has an 8.8% stake in the company. BlackRock is the second-largest institutional holders, with 7.34% of the company.
Or it could be some little executive twerp that decided to do it.
