Gas cylinder lock looks in newer condition than its surrounding parts....Any other stock markings other than the 'P' proof?...It's nice that your op-rod is a correct uncut wartime one....What is the barrel date?...Bodes

Winchester never dated their M1 rifle barrels

stock would have had the WRA GHD cartouche, large pad in trigger housing
and round WRA style firing pin

Very nice. Thank you for sharing!

I haven’t studied M1s in many years, but remember that the rifle may have gone through a depot in France during the War and had new (at that time) parts installed. This would be normal and not change it from being “untouched” since the end of the War.
