So I picked up a minty 870 in 20 ga, and in my inspection, I checked everything out meticulously, but never pulled the trigger or moved the safety. I got it home, loaded it, and the damned safety is locked. I do not have a j shaped key for it. Any tips?

This locking safety was changed in 2005 because of complaints about it engaging by accident and the newer ones are not supposed to engage unless you insert and turn the key.
The parts to eliminate it are in the $10 range. You can have a dealer unlock it, or probably get a free key from Remington or eliminate it, using a regular trigger lock iof you wish.
