Dicks Sporting Goods has Ultramax ammo on sale. Has anyone used this brand and is it any good? Thanks for all replies.

my experience: 9mm, 115 gr. LRN, mixed recycled brass

kind of dirty/smoky, seemed underpowered relative to Winchester white box, worked OK. I would buy again if the price was right.

I got some when I bought a bulk can from Cabela's in 40 S&W. I will never buy it again. It is the dirtiest ammo I have ever fired. My CZ40P was actually making smoke rings when fired.

I've used their "cowboy" ammo in the old timey western boxes. No problems at all with the .38 Special. The 45-70 ammo left unburnt powder in the action of my Springfield Model 1888. I think this was because the ammo was underpowered and the case necks weren't expanding enough in the chamber. But since I specifically bought the "cowboy" ammo because it is loaded to lower pressure, I didn't complain.
