I bought a repro scope block for my type 99, do I need loctite on the screws? Thanks!

I would, or you could stake them like the factory did,If you use loctite use the blue not the red, red is somewhat permanent. JMHO

Chances are it's not going to fit anyway. I don't think there was as much standardization as your hoping for. I believe each and every block as hand fitted to a specific rifle. Once mounted it was generally not a considered a removeable item.

I bought one of Don Schlickman's repros and it does fit.

Do all the screw holes line up straight? If they do then I am really surprized. And you got extremely lucky. I know Don makes excellent parts. I was under the impression that you sent him the barreled action and he fitted the block to your rifle.

The screw holes suprisingly line up perfectly. The index pins will need a bit of work, but will turn out great. Very happy with Don's stuff.

Don's blocks are perfect, its just that the Japanesee did not use the same pattern on all rifles. Last two I have done I sent the action to him.
