My optics look the same way. I found another scope numbered to another Hitachi in the 10,000 serial number range. The scope I have won't slide onto my gun. I have to get on that real soon. My case strap is broken too.

I don't think I'd do anything to "make a scope fit" and I darn sure wouldn't shoot the gun with it in place. The eye relief is so short that without a soft rubber eye piece you will be needing stitches.

They are made of brass. Real easy to "fit" Just remember these LMG's weight 20 plus pounds and are gas operated. Recoil should be minimal. I plan on using it. I have 5 days to get it to fit.

Anyone know if there was a T-99 LMG scope case made in just leather?

There was one for sale somewhere? I saw it. No guarantee it is for a 99. But it is for a LMG. Probably early issue.
