This is the scope that comes with my T-99 LMG. It's in really nice condition as is the carrying case. The optics are pretty clear but there are specks.
The scope appears to be numbered to a Kokura LMG but the case has Nagoya markings.

My optics look the same way. I found another scope numbered to another Hitachi in the 10,000 serial number range. The scope I have won't slide onto my gun. I have to get on that real soon. My case strap is broken too.

I don't think I'd do anything to "make a scope fit" and I darn sure wouldn't shoot the gun with it in place. The eye relief is so short that without a soft rubber eye piece you will be needing stitches.

They are made of brass. Real easy to "fit" Just remember these LMG's weight 20 plus pounds and are gas operated. Recoil should be minimal. I plan on using it. I have 5 days to get it to fit.

Don't say you weren't warned. I have video of a fellow shooting the T-99 and he keeps wiping his eyebrow and when finished his eyebrow was bleeding. Without that eye cup there is a sharp edge there.

I put a repo eye piece on mine. I shoot it with the scope.I have found that it is very accurate with the scope.
I have some black specs, but nothing like sniper scopes.
If you want to go all out you can sight these scopes in. They are the most difficult.
I wouldn't be afraid of shooting a 99lmg with a scope on it.

Where did you find a repro eyepiece for yours?

Rob,

Easy to shoot with scope. I've never had an issue with being hit in the eye ( T99 sniper is a different story - short stock pull is a bugger). I wrote a lengthy post on zeroing scope a few years back. I will see if I can revive it. A little hand fitting of the brass base will not harm your scope. Small files, crocus cloth and patients is all you need.

I guess that if you add some distance from the scope you can keep from being hit but with mine, you have to have your eye really close to get the full view through the optics.
I'm only going to use my scope for display purposes. It fits ok but it doesn't need any more specks and I'm not going to fool with taking it apart.

Specs and spider webbing are common with theses scopes..all of mine have the same thing..i do not use them when i shoot..just as an accessory for the gun..it is not a sniper rifle...it is a mg...shoot the $hit out of it and blast anything away in your path..you can't break them...the cartridge is too weak..
And remember...0-20 is t96...0-40 graduations is t99
