If there is no rust or corrosion. Use anything that would clean a modern rifle. If you have issues post picture of those areas for further assitance. If it is an early rifle with a chrome bore. Stay away from bore cleaners with a high ammonia content the chrome bore doesn't handle it well so I'm told.
Type 99 Help
Received a Type 99 from a veteran who was part of the occupation force. He told me when he brought it home the action worked but currently the bolt or safety do not operate. There is some movement in both but they do not function beyond that, The safety will push in but not rotate.
