Type 99 Full Mum 1st Series Rifle

I acquired this rifle in trade awhile back and it doesn't fit into my collecting interests these days. I am offering it up for sale or trade towards other German or Japanese militaria.

I was told it was a first series (don't know my Japanese weapons that well) type 99. It has the aircraft sights, cleaning rod, etc. In addition it has a full non-defaced mum, and the blueing is all original.

Now the detractions. The bolt is a mismatch, and the stock has been sanded. Lastly, after sanding the stock someone applied what I am guessing is some "satin finish" something over the wood that also got on the triggerguard metal on the bottom of the rifle. Perhaps this can be removed.

But it certainly does look nice and perhaps it would make a great shooter, if collectors shoot these rifles.

I am asking $225 or best offer, plus shipping/paypal fees.

If anyone going to the SOS wants to see it, please let me know and I'll bring it along. I am entertaining all offers, both cash and trade items.
PM sent
William J, Please consider the rifle SOLD!
I will purchase the Type 99 Full Mum 1st Series Rifle for $250, plus shipping and Paypal fees.
I have an original very early T-99 stock, monopod, and dustcover that will work great on this rifle.
By the way, how is the condition of the bore on a scale of 1 to 5?
Please contact me at:
[email protected] for shipping particulars to my FFL.
thanks,
Ron Woods
Daves-M1A,
...looks like William J is covering his bases to sell his rifle.

So you have multiple people saying "I'll Take it" and feeling confident that they have it as being ok? Maybe I'ts me but but I would not be happy.
Dave
Look at the 2 posts and you can see people think they have it and are looking for confirmation. bad form in my opinion
...relax, Dave...it is an obsolete, de-commissioned, military surplus artifact...not the Holy Grail.

I am confident William J will sell the rifle to whoever he choses and the Forum Administrators will
council him on limiting his future efforts to sell or trade firearms to just "one" Gunboards Forum.

All the best,
Ron
My apologies to anyone I might have inadvertently offended! I am new to the forums and don't know the proper protocol. When I did not receive any interest on the Japanese weapons forum, I created a similar listing on the general for sale forum in an attempt to sell it before I went out of town. When I buyer offered to drive to meet me, I was away from my computer and could not update either thread.

The rifle has been sold and I truly appreciate all the offers and comments by interested parties.

Great collecting and God bless1

William J.
First best offer I've seen at over the asking price, congrats!

Maybe my comment came off as a little harsh. Sometimes it looks different when you re-read what you wrote

"No worries, Mate!" Thank you for the note. I hope things are well in New Jersey...sunny and 80 degrees
today in Texas!

As the French say, "C'est la vie!" (Such is life!)

Willian J is new to this medium of commerce....by the way, William sold the rifle to a local interested party
while we were scrambling between forums...haha!
...my search for a "mummed" Series One continues!

All the best,
Ron
