I know I have seen this posted before but in my 20 years of collecting Japanese type 38 AND TYPE 99 RIFLES (and I have over 30 examples)
I have never had this problem. I purchased a type 99 from a guy on the net. the Rifle was as described execpt the bolt is locked in the action. I hate to take it apart as all screws are staked. I'm sure it was a combination of turning the safety and doing something else at the same time. Any help would be great or a link to the old post on this subject. Thank You, Ed

Problem solved with the first method from Dean . Thanks so much. It is a wonderful thing when you can tap in to all this information in one place. Thanks again from someone who thought I had seen it all. Ed
