Hello every one

I have been able to find a lot on my type 38 my dad gave me for Christmas last year except an honest value. It is a series 25 Kokura with full mum all matching numbers good shiny bore sling and Nagoya bayonet with scabbard and frog the only thing missing is the cleaning rod. serial #070xx.
I would have to say the blue is 95+% the wood is around 90% due to dings in it.
This rifle came home with an army supply sergeant then sat in the rafters in the laundry room for 60+ years before we ended up with it. We ended up pay $150.

Thank you.

I would say, with out the bayonet.... $250 to $400 on the market, depending on how it was presented and who sees it. Someone might give it a bit more credit than that since it does have the DC. I tend to be conservative.

Figure the bayonet at $65 to $125, and the frog does add a bit of value, though how much, I am not 100% up on.

If that sling isn't missing the buckle, it alone could be worth what you paid. The rifle looks like a very nice example. The bayonet looks to have some rust to it but hard to say from the overall photo. Does the dust cover match as well?
BTW, the cleaning rods were not numbered or even marked at all on Kokura rifles.

All numbered parts ether have the serial or assembly number including the dust cover and stock. The sling is complete with buckle and brass stud how ever the leather is dry and broke when I was cleaning the rifle and I had to super glue the ends back together. The bayonet does have surface rust on it but gets better every time I oil it.

On the auction sights, I have seen mummed matching T38's in that condition going anywhere from $350 to $450, and these were without the dust cover and without the sling. With the matching DC and sling, although missing cleaning rod, I would imagine you could get anywhere from $500 to $600 on auction And the bayonet separately for $75.

Good thing for you it's a family piece or you would have to sell it to me as soon as possible ;)
