No known Tula produced examples dated other than 1944 are known.

And then above he cites ~50000 manufactured by Tula.

He needs to update that info on 1940. I think his totals are about as close as one will come. In terms of military guns these are rather uncommon. Nice finds.

Sandwhiched in in between a bunch of other 38's. Being a gentleman, I dare not give the location. But I know it's tucked between a 1939 through 1945 and with its brother, the 44' Tula.
