I picked up a new Carcano earlier this morning. All I knew about it is that it was an antique long rifle. I have a couple of other Carcanos, but they are carbines from the recent import explosion.

Yeah, it is a long rifle alright. It's in great shape for the age. I just need to take it down and clean out the dried up grease on it and inside it. The bore looks pretty good and I imagine it will shoot well with the proper projectiles. I don't know much about this specific rifle's history, but I don't believe it's a recent import. It looks too good to have been unearthed in Ethiopia.

My understanding is that this is a pretty rare manufacturer for Carcano rifles.

I'll take more photos as I clean it up. Gotta head to work for now.

I have to check mine and see if it's the same year.
