I assume you are referring to the one that replaces the bushing...

I have one on my Polish TT. It's ok and does nothing against recoil as far as I can tell. I honestly bought it because I needed a 9mm bushing to install a barrel in that caliber on the pistol and the original Chinese bushings are gone.

That said, I've had no issues with it and now I get to shoot 9x19mm in my Toks :)

Nope. Plopped in the barrell and that's it. Works GREAT.

Though from what you wrote it seems you already have a 9mm Tok - I have two watchouts for you: Chinese 9x19mm barrels won't work in the Yugo M57 (if not a Yugo, you should be ok) and be sure to inspect the barrel well if it's Chinese, particularly the chamber. One of the two I bought was drilled off-center and the projectile didn't line up properly with the bore.

Hope this helps

All of the Toks I have so far are all Norincos - I may just leave the latest acquisition as it is in 7.62x25 . . . .

I already need to get a firing pin retaining pin - one part of the split end broke and fell out last night when I was dry-firing the gun - the retaining pin is still in there good and snug, but I imagine if I were to detail strip the gun it'd not stay put when I reassembled it.

I've read elsewhere that an AR-15 trigger guard roll pin will fit - unless I can find a source for a specific replacement part, does that make sense to you guys?

Any suggestions for parts on these Toks? I've looked at Numrich and some of the others, and a lot of the parts show as sold out - where do you guys go for parts?

Thanks very much for sharing your experience with me.

Yep that looks like what I need - is the firing pin retaining pin for the TT-33 shown in the link the same as for the Norinco Model 54 that I have?

Also, I'm thinking that since that part broke, I should probably pick up some other parts in case anything else needs replacing when I detail strip the gun - do they make pin sets for these guns, or is it find what ya can where ya can?

In general, for my Norinco Toks, are most of the parts I'll be able to find, aside from the barrel and magazines, interchangeable with parts I'll see out there from other Toks?

I'm thinking that it'd be good for me to look for a set of pins, maybe a recoil spring, maybe a firing pin, maybe an ejector spring and ejector - any other likely suspects?

Oh, yeah - one other thing - where can I get those magazine floor plates with the "pinkie rest" - I think that's what they're called. Like a Pearce +1 for my Glocks . . .

Thanks!

The roll pin will not work all that well for you as a firing pin retainer. There have been fairly recent posts where they have been used and interfered with firing pin travel. You really do need the smaller diameter through the body of the split retainer.

I had a pin that liked to walk out. I ground the pin end down slightly, so it was below the top level of the slide. Then I used a sharp center punch to hit the slide next to the pin hole. It peened a little material over the top of the pin, locking in place, but still removable if it had to come out. A little cold blue applied with a Qtip, and all sins were hidden.

I used a chinese firing pin, and retaining pin in my Russian Tokarev. they work fine for the last 27 years. I am building a 'sino sovieet, yugo" tokarev. I have a chinese t54 frame and barrel, a russian slide ,1941, beatiful finiah no import markings, and all russian internals... Yugo trigger and return spring. tried other paarts in my build to check function, everything seems to be working. I just need the hsmmeer pack, a busing and the 3 recoil spring parts.
If you need new spring sets, wolff springs sells a complete set of springs for the tokarev. http://www.gunsprings.com/ I can't say where to get the pins. try gun parts corp..

Finding parts for the older guns can become a second job - thank goodness for creative guys like you'll - off to shoot the 7.62x25 this afternoon, along with some of the rest of the toys - I gotta show the Glocks and the 1911s some love - they're getting jealous of the Toks !!!

The problem with spares parts in regards the Tokarev seems to me that they got snapped up overseas. You go on gunbroker you can find most any part you need, but at above market ( what i'm willing to pay) prices.
Now If one of the big importers could make a big buy, i could afford to finish my build.
It is nice to see capitalisim thriving in the former warsaw pact countries, except when it costs me more....

Thanks for the pointer to the Wolff springs site, Charles - will their spring sets listed for the "TOKAREV 1930 7.62MM" work in my Norinco 9mm Tok? I'm assuming that the set will work in my 7.62x25 Norinco Tok, correct?

On the different pins, can I assume that if I find a firing pin retaining pin, that pretty much regardless of which variant of Tok that I have, the pin will work OK with all the different guns?

Thanks!

By all accounts, the wolff springs will fit all tokarevs. I'm as noted, building a tokarev from parts from around the world. everything has fit. no problems. I even put a yugo barrel bushing and yugo reoispring set in my russian slide, and it worked. now i've not shot it. just worked it by hand. i have no doubt she'll run when i've finished it.
I've not ordered from them, http://www.omega-weapons-systems.com/tokarevt54.html but they have the firing pin retaining pin, probaly chinese for sale at 5 bucks. you may want to order enough parts to make postage woorth it. or just get one from dealers warehouse.. ... Charles

Thanks!
good luck
