I'll be there Saturday. Always a hit-or-miss show for me. But I got lucky last time when I found a Tula Finn Mosin Dragoon that needed a bit of TLC for $100. You never know. Plus, it's only 15 minutes from my house so it'd be a shame to not put aside an hour out of the weekend for rooting out potential goodies.

Its too late now, but...is this the show that opens for a few hours on Friday evening?
Its indeed a hit-or-miss show, but IIRC, its one of the better ones in the area.

Due to lots of family activity, I was not planning to attend however today, a dealer friend called me and needed help unloading his arms from his truck. While unloading and helping him set up, I found this sitting on a neighboring rack. I did not get a chance at all to cruise the show so have no idea what else is there.

Well not much in the way of Finns. I did see a B barrel in a new stock for $395.
Also another M39 Sako for $325. A few empty tables and more junk items then the last one I
attended in January. The ammo prices were high but there were a few good buys on the newly imported 91-30's and the like. We bought out all the Bulgarian 54R one dealer had.
Heavy ball 250rds on links for $55 for 500rds. Not too bad of a deal but one can of it was
pretty rusty. With any luck it will clean up and shoot. Oh, almost forgot there was a SVT 40
walk in that was nice for $650. If I didn't have one it might have come home with me.He was walking out with it as we left. More commercial rifles and less milsurp.

I saw that SVT 40 as I was leaving. It was drawing a small crowd and hadn't even left the entrance! All the decent stuff I saw was Japanese today. A nice Type 44 that someone snapped up and a couple of Type 99s. I've been looking for a last ditch T99 and found a nice example for $169. The only nice Mosin I saw was a Dragoon that came from Clay's estate. Unmatched but in VG condition for $265 after a 20% discount they were offering on all used firearms. Looks like Finn Collector got the only other good Mosin deal of the show (barring any walk-ins). Otherwise it was a bit underwhelming. Just not enough firearm dealers for my liking, though the accessory dealers did have interesting and neat stuff. Fed my Enfield fetish with a new, still-in-the-wrap No9 bayonet for $25 and found a NZ L1A1 stock covered with hideous green paint for $10. including the buttplate. I can still smell the coachwood under the coat of paint! Can't complain too much about the show as it only cost me 'bout $2 in gas money.
Next stop; York @ the end of the month, always worth the drive (if I have any coin left, bid on a Webley MkI Naval semi-auto at Poulin's big auction this weekend, I'll know on Monday if I need to empty my checking account!).

It pays to bring cash
Hit the show late on Sat., about an hour before closing. This one was not as good as some, and the supply of milsurps at reasonable prices thinner as well. Seems like the Oct. show has more high priced sporting arms. This show had more in the way of surlus gear and accessories, too. If you collected Jap arms you might have been in luck, as there were lots of rifles. I did a quick run around to get some idea what was there and at what price. Ran into a dealer with a couple of Yugo SKS 59/66's for $199.99 each. He was running a special where you'd get 10% off if you paid cash, so managed to get a nice VG Samco import SKS for $179.99 OTD. The blue on this is nice, as is the bore.

Didn't make this one but I will sometimes venture over there. I have never found anything except some over priced bayonets. That show is never very good for Milsurps though as they used to have a loosely enforced rule about it having to be an antique dated weapon. They have slacked off on that though I understand. Let's face it there just isn't that much left to qualify for that rule! For what they charge for a table they should close their eyes completely. All the dealers who go there usually increse their prices at least 20% because of that. When Pottstown Gun Show was in it's heyday at the old Ballroom that was the show to hit as you could save a bit on the same guns you would see at the Baltimore GunShow! Gads I feel old remembering that little fact! Bill
