was wondering if some of this could be cleared up by interviewing japanese vets? at least to see if they had any first hand experience grounding mums or being told by their officers.
About 15 years ago, I interviewed a U.S. Coast Guard vet who served in the occupation forces in some capacity. Among his souvenirs was a TK T-99 long with ground mum. He indicated he and a friend broke into a Japanese factory storage building one night and that was where he located the rifle. It was already ground.
